Measurement units

Hi guys! In today's post I would like to share with you the blog of a mother. In the blog appear different activities and forms of manipulative character with which to work the concept of measurement with students, in this case the mother wanted to guide activities for children aged 7 to 8 years, as their daughter is in the second year of Primary Education. I believe that manipulative materials are very useful and allow students to discover new concepts without the need for an adult to give them the answers. All this allows children to learn in a more dynamic and fun way. http://www.inspiradosenreggioemilia.com/explorando-las-unidades-de-medida/#more-1076

In today's post I would like to show you a "youtube" video that is very useful for students in the first year of primary education. It is a very useful way to introduce students to the concept of measurement.

Measurement app

In today's post, I wanted to show you an application that I found on the internet specifically in "Play Store". It is an Android application, in which students can measure the length, width and volume of things using ICTs. You can do many activities related to this application and it is very fun for students of Primary Education. The teacher can do active activities, in which the students meet in groups and together they find the exact measurement of several objects. Project-based learning is a good methodology to use for this application. . https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.sira.measure&hl=es

Let's watch this video!

In today's post, I would like to share with you a video that I found on the "youtube" platform. It is a video that lasts 10 minutes and works with students on probability. Students will be introduced in a story in which they must solve a crime, someone has killed probability! We must discover who it was! Thanks to this resource, the teacher can work on this concept in the subject of mathematics and making use of ICTs. It's a pretty fun video and it's having a lot of success in Primary Education, especially in the third cycle.

The length

In today's post I will attach a link. It is a web page that includes a series of activities and games to work with the students the length. It is a very useful Tic resource that we can use in the Primary Education class, and also a good way for our students to practice this topic. Students will learn the different ways to measure and in a fun way. This resource can be used for students in the second and third cycle of Primary Education. http://ntic.educacion.es/w3/recursos/primaria/matematicas/longitud/menu.html

In today's blog post I would like to share with you a resource that I found on the "Youtube" platform. It is a video in which a girl appears who poses a problem to the students. The problem is to discover the type of object that is hidden and that we can not see. How can we solve this enigma? Through the different ways of measuring that there are and making assumptions. Of course at the beginning of the video, the girl explains the types of measurement that we can find, to introduce the students to the activity. Throughout the activity, the girl explains how to measure, the height, length, weight, width, etc. of said object. I think it is a very useful resource, because it could be carried out in the classroom and thus make a more dynamic activity with the students. This particular resource is aimed at 5th grade students of primary education, however it could be modified and applied in any course.

Hi guys! In today's post I would like to show you a link that I found in the Pinterest app and I search it in the official blog. It is an image in which it appears how to introduce the concept of statistics to students of Primary Education. In my point of view, the model of introduction in the blog that corresponds to pose is very useful, since students work in the same way with manipulative material, which in addition to facilitating the understanding of the concept of statistics makes it more fun . You can perform a variety of activities with this resource, in pairs, individually or in groups. In addition to the types of concepts that can be worked with students. Not only can you work on statistics, but you can also work on probability as well as geometric bodies in space. In the blog that appears below as a link, you can see the different functions of this resource and how to use it and apply it in class with your students. I hope you liked it! http://reseteomatemati...

Probability Game

During today's class we have been working on probability. Our group has come up with a very fun activity that we can use with the students of the second cycle of Primary Education to introduce the concepts of impossible, probable and safe. First of all we will need a giant dice, which has its faces of colors Red, Blue, Brown, Green, Yellow and Green again. Each side of the die has its number written as usual. The activity consists in that by groups they must respond to a file given by the teacher previously, in that sheet some questions appear about the times in which the colors or numbers appear. To work on the concept of impossible, you will be asked about the times when the black color appears (none). To work on the concept of probable, you will be asked about the times when the green color appears, the number two, etc. And to work the concept of insurance, you will be questioned the times in which a number appears in each roll.

Figures activity

In today's post I would like to show you an activity that we could carry out with the third cycle of primary education. Working with the students the geometrical bodies and the projection of these in the plane is complicated for them, because in many occasions they are not able to imagine their decomposition and the formation of these, in other occasions the face number of the polygons and figures are very numerous. Students learn more quickly through manipulative materials, and if in addition, such material has been manufactured by them the learning process will be acquired more easily. The media are one of the substantive components of teaching   With this statement what we want to indicate is that in every teaching process inevitably the media are configured as one of the essential elements of this process. It is unthinkable, nowadays, for a teacher to develop his teaching using exclusively the oral word and its gestures. Even in the classes that we could consider as mo...
